Commercial tiling contractors
Pubs, coffee shops, offices, care homes, beach toilet blocks and retail, across West Sussex, Hampshire and further when the job calls for it.
The Bear Free House, Littlehampton
A high end result expected on our domestic projects, finished at the pace expected on our commercial projects.
That line comes from a care home refurb in 2023: 196m² of 600x300 through shower rooms and staff toilets, in 11 days. It is how we like to work on any site.
While we are still a small company, we know what we are capable of. Sam and Harvey lead the work, with trusted subcontractors on bigger programmes, and Danielle keeps the office side moving. We work with main contractors including King & Drury, Arch Construction, Cloud9 Contractors and JSG.

A failed floor, re-laid
A residential flats entrance in Chichester, planned over months with the residents.
The original floor had failed and cracked. We removed the floor and the wooden skirting, primed, matted, tiled and installed tile skirtings, after months of planning with the residents.
Most of the work on a job like that happens before anyone arrives: talking it through with the people who live there, and working out why the floor failed rather than just re-laying it.
Commercial questions
Can you work outside trading hours?
Yes, it is how plenty of our commercial work gets done. We have tiled a coffee shop service area and kitchen pass between 5pm and 11pm so it could open the next morning, an 80m² shop floor over 3 evenings, and evening shifts in a supermarket service area.
Do you meet a slip resistance specification?
We work to the values in your specification. The HSE treats a pendulum test value (PTV) of 36 or more as low slip potential, and R ratings are measured in boots with oil rather than bare feet, so the right number depends on the floor's use.
Can you tile accessible toilets?
Yes, including 45m² across 2 accessible toilets at West Wittering in 2 days. Approved Document M asks for visual contrast of more than 30 LRV points between floor and wall, or at least 20 where lighting is above 200 lux. We check the tile against that before ordering.
What about food premises and care homes?
Food premises need impervious, washable surfaces, and your environmental health officer can confirm details like coving. In care settings we support your CQC premises obligations with hygienic, slip-aware finishes, working to your specification. Our 196m² care home refurb went through shower rooms and staff toilets.
How do you handle dust?
Cutting wet where we can, on-tool extraction where we cannot, and the right respiratory protection. It matters most when the site is open and trading around us.
How do we get a quote for a commercial job?
Send your drawings and schedule to sam@taymantiling.co.uk. We measure off the drawings and come back to you. More for builders and contractors.
